The Organised Useful Rehabilitation Service (OURS) who are based in Mbarara (about 150 miles away) came to Kisoro to collaborate with PV to provide medical assessment, treatment, physio and eye assessment for over 125 children.
Potter’s Village is excited that Nurse Jovia has been seconded to us from the district hospital. She is providing much needed nursing experience and knowledge and will be joined in a few weeks time by Rosie, a retired nurse who is coming from England for about two years.
Four of the older pre-school children have now found new foster homes: Gift, Dan, Emma and Junior are all provided for, and hard as it is for the carers to say goodbye to these children it is wonderful that they can now be with families.
Charity was still at primary school, when she was raped and disowned by her family. It is a blessing that Potter's Village is able to give a home to her little one, Favour, so she can continue with her education.
