For those of you who have not met Jackson before on our newsletters or website, Jackson is the oldest child at Potter’s Village (he is 5 ½) and has been there since birth.
Tobias went home on 13th to live with his grandmother, aunt and mother. When he arrived at 14 months old, he weighed 4.8kg, the average weight of a 2 month old baby.
Tobias came to us on 23 January 2012. His mother, a psychiatric patient, had no idea that her child was heading for death like her elder sibling who succumbed to death due to kwashiorkor.
This is the most imposing building on site so far, continuing with the green roofs and circular buildings, which will enable Potter's Village to accomodate all the babies more satisfactorily.
The Organised Useful Rehabilitation Service (OURS) who are based in Mbarara (about 150 miles away) came to Kisoro to collaborate with PV to provide medical assessment, treatment, physio and eye assessment for over 125 children.
Potter’s Village is excited that Nurse Jovia has been seconded to us from the district hospital. She is providing much needed nursing experience and knowledge and will be joined in a few weeks time by Rosie, a retired nurse who is coming from England for about two years.
